Hey guys! I ordered the sample invite from http://www.cardsandpocketsstore.com. Here are the pictures and the color chart, since the green didn't really turn out correct. You can view the actual colors offered here: http://www.cardsandpocketsstore.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=141I . I have coffee bean pocket folders, pine invite mat, and cream envelopes, invites, RSVP post cards, and insert (which I am only using one and printing on both sides the maps for the church and reception).

Trial design, but I probably won't use the same font - I don't care for it too much. The wording will probably change a bit too. I mainly put text there for positioning purposes:

*EDIT- I included the first sample without the font, cuz it was too distracting

I think I am going to go with this:

I don't want it to busy since I am doing pocketfolds, and I like the little birds behind the trees.

and the Save-the-Dates that will have an enagement picture incorporated into it:

Oh, and if you are interested, they cost about 2.00 per invite (not counting shipping), not counting postage: My postage is 58 cents per invite. They were the cheapest pocket folders I could find (98 cents each) and they had all the colors I needed.

Also.... my wedding board.... none of it's handmade though, just thought I would share! Not sure where the cake was from though, but that is what we want our cake to look like - it has little stems on it. The table is a mock setting we did... still don't know how we will do the napkins, they aren't starched so they can't be folded in certain ways.

Thanks for looking!

I like the idea of using the trees and the colors work well together. The save-the-date feels finished but I think something is missing from the invitations. Maybe after you play around some with different fonts and the spacing, it'll all come together. I like seeing the bird in your first design, but it feels so separate from the words. The second one feels more connected but I miss the color from the bird.

Thanks for the comments, yeah, I felt the wording placement kind of felt of balance with the graphic, so I changed the second one to be a background, but I thought the little green bird was a cute touch. Maybe I will do just a single branch with the bird on the top or the bottom.

I like the save the dates very much... they look great...I also think there is something missing with the invitations... I dunno.. the font is very pretty but it was hard to read.. maybe it needs more spacing between the lines

I love the tree though...maybe you can do another little branch in one corner, and have one love bird there, and the other one on the other side of the invite, in the tree the way it is now, ...so the lovebirds are getting married!

i agree on the font for the invitation - hard to read, maybe if it were a little clearer it'd work, but to me it looks a little too.... formal, maybe, for the rest of the invite.

i really like the trees, though.  so lovely.

Save the date looks gorgeous! If you go with the first invite design, maybe something in the upper left corner. For the second design, maybe a bird in the bottom left like the one on the 1st. Even playing around with the fonts and positions might do the trick - they feel they need to be balanced or less white space or something.

Yeah, I definitely agree about the font. It's a bit to curly and "formal" I guess would be a way to explain it.

I really like the save the dates too. Nice colors!

I think you should use two birds instead of one. That first bird just looks a little lonely to me!

I like the save the dates also. How about another small branch coming from the top of the invite with another bird on it (on the first invite example)? I really like those pocket invites. They look like nice quality too.
The best advice I've ever heard about planning any event is to design yourself a brand. If you like those birds, design a sort of logo that will incorporate onto everything you are using. Then you can play around with sizing and positioning, but the whole thing will look put together.
