I made this during the summer for a gift exchange at a female only family reunion.  The theme was socks and since I do not know how to knit (props to knitters!) and did not want to buy a pair of socks I decided to make a Christmas *sock*.  I have always admired crazy quilts and have planned on making one for a long time so I thought this would be a good opportunity to practice.  I did not have a pattern and just made it up as I went.  Crazy quilting is a lot harder than I thought!  This took me a long time to make and I like the way it turned out but I have not made one since and I did give it away.  Someday I'll make some for my family, after all my other *somedays* are taken care of!

I had left over crazy quilted fabric that I COULD not throw away so I made an ornament out of it.   On the stocking I listed all my great aunts names, the year of the reunion, and the theme of the gift exchange.

Thanks for looking!

Beautiful stocking!  I like how you embellished it with little charms.  I love the trim you used on the cuff.  Well done!

Thank you!  After doing the small amount of embroidery on this I acquired a greater appreciation for those who do embroidery!

This is just BEAUTIFUL!

Did you have a foundation for this, or what method did you use to sew this?  It appears to be lined.  It looks like you did such a great job.  I especially like that you added your family members' names on the stocking.  You really did go above and beyond the requirements of a "sock" just b/c you couldn't knit!  That sounds just like something I would do!   lol

Thank you so much for sharing.  You do beautiful work!
