I made these for Christmas a couple years ago for my SILs and MIL.  I made a total of 22 placemats and I was thankful that I started them in June, long before Christmas.  They are very easy to make and are quilted as you go.  I really like the color and fabric pattern of the bright red placemats.  The second set was made for my MIL.   I plan on making them either matching potholders or a table runner sometime.
