For those who have made the reprint 1952 version (4870?): does the pattern run small? I've heard mixed reviews on the sizing, so any tips would be helpful. Thanks.

hey guys, if anybody interested in owning a slight variation on the butterick walk away dress, there is a 50's vogue version: http://www.sovintagepatterns.com/catalog/item/4598521/5946927.htm

it seems this variation might solve the problem of the rising hemline seen by most dress owners.

Okay, after seeing your dress I promptly went out and bought the pattern and fabric. The fabric is in the wash right now and I can't wait to start sewing! Smiley

i think it's time to make a new one of these for spring!  the first one i made is super-heavy...and i love it, but it's a wee bit frumpy.  i like the looks of these lighter, floatier ones, and i have a giant bolt of springy fabric just waiting for me to get brave and cut something out!
