I've been rewatching so oldies, looking for crafting ideas.  Grin I guess I could call it "research" for how to do this swap.  I'm really enjoying everyone's photos.  I've been making up my own bios for them!  You may be surprised at what all your ancestors have been up to!

crafty_dame- I think Vaseline is petroleum jelly, so you are correct. Smiley

As far as the technique goes you design your piece as you wish and seal it with gel medium or I used decoupage and then where ever you want the peeling to happen cover it with a little petroleum jelly, but don't put too much on or else it is hard to paint over. Then you paint over it with your choice acrylic paint and wait for it to dry. I suggest you let it air dry because I used a heat gun and that's why it seeped through to the images (although I kind of liked it). Once it is dry take a paper towel and rub the piece and it should peel where you put the petroleum jelly. After that use a baby wipe to wipe off the excess jelly. It works great on canvas, but on the chipboard you have to make sure not to use too much jelly.

Hope that makes sense. If not feel free to ask questions.

That's a really cool technique - I can't wait to try it out! Thanks for telling us about it.

Here we go! This is crafty_dame's page for me, which I really love.

I'm intrigued that the first two pieces I've received use the same color scheme of turquoise and brown--two of my favorite colors!
