I received from lisateacher!  Here's the lovely front:

and the wonderful back:

The quote says, "In a perfect union the man and woman are like a strung bow.  Who is to say whether the string bends the bow, or the bow tightens the string?" Which I love.
Actually, altogether, I love love love love love it! Thanks again!

oh, very pretty!

did you alter the photo to make it a bit more sepia? i am SO in love with that image... it's very cool, because i went in a diferent colour direction on it. i like seeing how others interpret the same things!

No, the only thing I did to the photo was crop it.  I did take all of the pics to Walmart to be printed on  "real" photo paper.  I kinda think this one looks a little bit like a giant negative, without the holes on the edges of course.

I received from the_trademarks today!

I really like how they are standing in a field of meadow flowers!  Grandma's crown is very fitting for her, her fave color was red!

Thanks the_trademarks, it's perfect!

I've received from crafty-dame!  This page is so beautiful, I love the colors.  I have been admiring the lovely see through images that Crafty has been making over at the tip in swap (the gallery) and I'm so excited because she sent me one!!

Isn't it wonderful !?!

Crafty also sent me some cool stuff called punchinella.  I'm going to use it to make dots everywhere.  I know it's a little off topic to post pics of this stuff, especially crappy pics like these, but I'm sure some of you are going to find dots on your ancestors so .....

I love how differently everyone treated the same photo of your ancestors, lisaT.

Crafty_dame, that see through business is just too cool!

i'm sorry it took me so long to send the punchinella out to you, i totally forgot about it... i felt bad when i realized!

i was SO EXCITED to have an excuse to use one of the pieces of glass i bought a while ago. they're 4x4, so they were too big for the chunky pages, because they needed a border around them (the edges are kinda sharp), this was the perfect project for one of them! i love the design on it, it reminds me of a cupboard my grandma had when i was kid, she stored purses full of family photos and candy bought on sale after halloween in it!

i used punchinella on the piece as well, as you can tell! i love the way it works with ink - i think makeup sponges are my new favourite craft tool! and the backing paper is from a vintage player piano roll, i like the little cut out lines.

i thought your grandma must have been a very strong woman to be widowed so young.

hmmm... we're a chatty bunch, aren't we? Wink

here's something else to chat about! i got a great piece from the_trademarks!

she used the picture of my great grandparents, and did this super cool paint technique that makes the top layer of paint peel off (i forget what you used - and the letter is out in my car.... i'm sorry!). regardless, it's very cool! and she sent me a whole bunch of paper goodies too!

thank you so much!!
