I just sent! Here's a teaser image - please forgive the quality; I've never done one before, and apparently don't have a knack for it. Smiley

But we have flamethrowers. And what this indicates to me, it means that at some point, some person said to himself, "Gee, I sure would like to set those people on fire over there. But I'm way too far away to get the job done. If only I had something that would throw flame on them."

Ha ha! Now I'm really curious...ah, the waiting period between sending and receiving...so difficult! Wink

I'm certainly stumped. Are you figuring out mine at all? Smiley

Well, if everybody recognizes it, it's a good thing the picture of Marvin's eye is so crappy that you can't tell what material it's made from! Wink

I just picked it up and opened about an hour ago. All II can say is AAAAHHHHHH!!! (the good kind of scream) I loved it. If you don't have pictures, I'll try taking some tomorrow and posting them. I was so happy about the scarves in particular that I did a scarf dance.

Aaaah, the suspense is killing me!! xD

I just thought, I don't know how long oxynitrate's package is going to take to get to me what with coming from a different country and all, but it'd be sooooo cool if it got here on the 8th, because that's my birthday! How awesome would that be! Cheesy Well whenever it comes it will still feel like a birthday present, hee.

My birthday is the day after yours, oddacity, but hopefully I won't have to wait that long! Actually, my package is already here, but as I was gone when they tried to deliver it today (visiting a good friend I haven't seen in more than two years!), I just got a piece of paper saying they'd tried to deliver it. Grr!

That happened to me once with something I ordered from overseas. The worst part was, I was HOME when they tried to deliver it! They obviously didn't knock on the door very loudly as there was clearly a car in the doorway as well. PLUS, this was on a Saturday, and when I tried to go to the post office to get the package they informed me the guy doesn't come back from his route until 5, which is when the post office closes anyway. *grumble* So I had to wait another two days for something that was already going to be a late Christmas present to myself. D: SO FRUSTRATING!

dcoyote asked me to post pictures of what I had sent her. So here we go!

Small:
A H2G2 logo I created with photoshop and stenciled with freezer paper that she can put on whatever she would like

Medium:
I made a bunch of shrinky dink magnets. I also created these with photoshop and used the printable Shrinky Dinks and sealed them with UTEE.

(if you can't tell this is supposed to be a bowl of petunias  Grin)

Large:
She asked for a scarf- so I made her two (the colors are much truer to life in this picture)

Here is a close up of the "42 scarf"

Augh, they did it AGAIN!!! My father was home ALL DAY (car was there and everything) and yet they didn't bother to knock on the door, so all I got was a slip saying they've got my package. D: But at least I know my package is here! I'll get it tomorrow and have lots of nice pictures hopefully. Cheesy I'm excited!

I was kind of surprised, because I went on the website to track it and signed up for email alerts (because when you use the internet as much as I do one day seems like a long, long time lol) and haven't gotten any! But I'm guessing they probably stop once they leave the country? Oh well, it doesn't matter, because it's HERE! Now I just have to wait a day to get it. D: lol

I got my package! I'm so excited!!

I'm sorry for the crappy pictures, I tried to take them with daylight instead of a flash, but it's too gloomy outside Sad

Here is everything together:

I can't really say which one is my favourite, I love everything!

This is my super silverware roll in my favourite colours, that I'm so bringing to work tomorrow (even though there is silverware available over there!)  Grin
Action shot "unrolled":

Action shot "rolled":

The applique is really nicely done! And there are buttonhole stitches all around the roll and they are so nice too! And the ribbon is so cute with little itty bitty polka dots!

Next is a cute tote bag which I think I'm going to use as a lunch bag because it's just the perfect size! And it has a 42 on it which is super!

Next is a set of really cool charms which I think I'm going to use as stitch markers to replace my paper clips! They're perfect because they're all different colors!

And last but not least is an uber cute Marvin figurine! You can see him here sitting next to my computer, my plant, a photo of my dog and Dimpel (a hedgehog stuffie not on the picture), he's in the big leagues! It's funny because instead of bringing me down, like he does everybody on the Heart of Gold, he cheers me up because he's just so cute!

Thanks so much Orrkid! Everything is really nice and you were a great partner!
Thanks Audio too for organizing this! It was really fun!  Cheesy

My father came to pick me up from school today (ugh, I need to get my license...my permit expires tomorrow and I'm too old not to have one!! D: but ANYWAY!) and waiting on the passenger's seat was my package from oxynitrate!! Yay!

After struggling with the box (because I was too dumb to realize where the flap to open it was...O_o) I was greeted with this lovely box:

Absolutely gorgeous! I loooove the colors. And the "Heart of Gold" writing on the front. :]

And upon opening it...

This lovely necklace! LOVE the pendant especially.

Notebook! The texture is really interesting.

Every couple of pages she put in a little entry from the Guide! That bit about the population of the universe is like my new favorite quote, how did you know? xD Also, I love your handwriting! It looks a lot like a friend of mine's actually. Very pretty. Tongue

iPod case with Marvin's head on the front, made out of, you guessed it, towel! (And is that a fish/dolphin pattern I detect??) My iPod David thanks you, for his old case was made of leather and terribly hot and constricting, not to mention it scratched his face. D: This one's nice and breathable, LOL!

Adorable little boxes! I mentioned that I'd prefer not to have any "things" that couldn't be put to use because my room is soooo cluttered, so she sent me these cute little boxes to help in organizing things! So nice! Cheesy Plus they're very nicely painted.

Inside of the main box! Also very nicely painted.

Thank you so much, oxynitrate! I love everything a lot! <3<3<3

This is what I got! Dr.RubyDoomsday is amazing and so is her package! I love everything so much!

After I read the great letter she wrote me the first thing I pulled out were two white mice. Their names are Drausinus and Melchior.

Then I found this. A Vogon Poetry Survivor shirt, which is amazing and I can't wait to wear it out.

Then these amazing planetoid cuff links. I never would have thought to use those plastic gems for anything like this! With these she wrote "When in doubt, remember: W.W.Z.B.D.? The answer to that being wear sparkly Planetoid cufflinks with wild abandon."

And these very nice Beeblebrox Boxies with a Z.B. silver patch. Sorry for the bad picture.

A destressed paper quote! I'm going to hang this on my wall asap!

And even more! All the things were wrapped in quotes from Hitchhiker's Guide.

Thank you so much again, Dr.Ruby, i love it all!

Orrkid asked me to post pictures of the stuff I sent her, so here it goes!

First, my personal favourite, a cross stitch "Beware of the Leopard":

I posted more details here.

Next, a wall organizer. She said she wanted to be more organized!

More detailed post here.

Action shot modeled by my boyfriend and various items I found in my parents' house!

Next (her favourite!), an earring rack I copied from her wists. It has a stencilled Marvin on it and her favourite quote. It is also lined with rainbow dots because she likes rainbow colours!

Last detailed post, I promise!

And finally, a little last minute extra, a Marvin stamp. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the "printed" result...

I finally got photos!!! Grin

First a shot of everything (ignore my friend Brie's arm propping up Dohpaz)

Now, in no particular order, the awesome-ness....

This is the towel embroidered with the wikket gate symbol, notice the tower of steel for power, the tower of wood for spirituality, the tower of prespex for science and reasoning. The towers are joined by a silver bail of peace and a gold bail of wealth. And audio did a fabulous job of embroidering this!

This necklace has been worn out and about, as soon as my friend Susie posts the pictures I will post them here. For now, here is a shot of "Share and Enjoy" (motto of the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation) necklace in its inert state. It looks really cool on, like a bar-code:

Finally, my favourite, Dohpaz, the mirror-ed Twinnie of Zaphod Beeblebrox. Everything about him is reversed! He now lives on my bed next to the Zaphod doll from the film (I need to get a shot of them together)

Thank you audio-astrophysics!!!!!! I love everything!

Please note the t-shirt at the back, which was actually for my boyfriend.  I made him listen to the radioscripts a while back, and he got to the bit where Zaphod comes out of the total perspective vortex and was briefly considering getting "I am Beeblebrox" tatooed across his chest.  (He didn't want to model the t-shirt, though, even though I held off on posting pictures until after giving it to him, so as not to spoil the surprise.  He was pretty amused, though.)

Possibly my favorite thing, a Vogsphere scintillating jeweled crab necklace.  I wore it today, actually.  Smiley

And my other favorite thing... a fishbowl with fish on one side, and "So long and thanks for all the fish" etched on the other side.  The font is lovely, and completely failed to show up in the pictures.  Oh well.  Anyway, it's a candle holder, and came with handmade super-intensely scented candles.  (I'm going to have to split them up and put them in quarantine in my drawers or something-- each one smells nice, but together they're pretty overwhelming)

Golgafrinchan scrunchies!  The next time I go to a robot disco, I'm set.  And most of them are actually sane enough individually for everyday wear, with one or two to save in case I'm feeling particularly in need of excitement.  Smiley

and last but definitely not least, this is what came boiling up out of the box when I first opened it (along with the scent of the candles)... I shall attempt not to drop this bowl of petunias off of anything, let alone down through the upper atmosphere, since it certainly deserves better.  Smiley

...oh, and on the box it said: "Don't Panic!  It's here!"  which made me laugh, and it's pretty good advice from someone who's been dealing with a cranky teething toddler for the last two weeks.  Smiley  Thanks Sam!

My package is wonderful, I just wish my cam wasn't dead, I'm working on hunting down one to borrow.

They're the kind with plastic stems and cloth leaves & flowers, and they do look quite nice.  Smiley
