 Seeing as how I've been working at the costume shop at a theme park as of late, I've had alot of costumes at my disposal.
   And seeing as how my prom was right around the corner, it seemed like the perfect idea to snatch up [completely legally. I borrowed it and they're totally aware that i did. Cheesy] one of the cutest pink petticoats they usually use for shows and make a perfect prom dress!

  The skirt was just pink satin with a black overlay, no pattern really.
  The top was made from a vinage Burda pattern, although I did end up removing the cups and opting for underwire supported jobs.

[EDIT] It's so funny that you guys pointed out the Molly Ringlwald thing, because my name actually is Molly!  Grin

  The dress [front];

  The top is supported by your run-of-the-mill plastic boning. The pink satin is actaully under a layer of the same light black meshy stuff as is on the skirt, just to give it more dimension.

  The dress[back];

  I really love the large bow in the back; you can't really see it here that well.
What was so annoying about this was that the back panel actually pops off with the bow on a series of large costume snaps we usually use for quick changes on stage.
Underneath the panel is a bunch of loops for lacing. It was so hard to sit and eat!

 I'm the ultimate procrastinator; I sewed in the finishing touches two hours before I got picked up!

  THE GIANT PETTICOAT;

  One for fun;

  And another;

  Waiting for prince charming....;

  This can't be him. o_o';

  Awww;

  The pink suspenders were my idea. Cheesy

  My brother does not approve of this match;

  Hehe;

And the last one!;

  I hope you guys like it! It took me two weeks off and on and was worth it! So many people thought it was adorable and apparently the two of us became an 'it' couple. Can you believe it? Ha ha!

You guys are an adorable couple, and you did an excellent job on that dress. My favorites are the bow on the back and his pink suspenders - good call on that!

I LOVE this dress. The picture one the bike is really cute, too.  Oh, and I totally mean this as a compliment -- you really look Molly Ringwald-ish here.
