Here's a clock I made using seed beads. The base is a piece of matboard and I glued the seed beads to that using regular ol' elmers glue. It took a really long time because I basically glued one bead at a time, but I think it was worth it 'cause I love the results. It used to be hung on the wall, but now it's on a shelf and I used a metal plate rack to prop it up.

And here's a close-up

Let me know what ya think...

That is AWESOME! I love it! That must have been a pain to glue all the beads on though.  Cheesy

that is simply AWESOME! I would love to do something like that but I have no patience, and the seed beads are just so small!(yet I love seed beads anyway)- reminds me of one of those little plastic horses I made...I strung red, orange and yellow seed beads on thin wire and glued it down, and the other side is green, blue, and purple, but of course that side is not even half done because of my terrible patience skills (or the ones I lack- haha) honestly my goal is to finish it! Smiley
anyway, your clock is awesome! Smiley

Wow, that's sooo cool! But I don't think I'll EVER try something like that, sticking one little seed bead at a time, you've got guts!

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone. You make me want to make another one just so people will say nice things to me Wink

Shocked  that's amazing!!!  I'm very impressed!  when you said it took a long time...  do you have any clue how much?
I'm not really sure how long it took. I was still in school at the time so I was pretty busy with studying too-- maybe 3 or 4 weeks. Some nights I would work on it for a couple of hours, some nights not at all. So it's hard to tell how long it would have taken me if I would have worked on it more consistently.

Wow! That is so beautiful- how on earth did you get the numbers to fit so well? Amazing!

I sketched everything out before I ever started glueing any beads down. And when I was working on an area with a number in it I kept working in that area 'til the number was done-- that way the surrounding beads were still movable because the glue wasn't dry yet and beads could be adjusted to make the number look right. (I hope that makes some kind of sense.)

Wow-oh-wow. I could NEVER do something like that. Holy crap. If I so much as attempted that, I probably would've--in a fit of rage--thrown the beads all over the floor and spilt all the glue. If you had the willpower to do another, I think you could get big bucks for that.

Be what you would seem to be - or, if you'd like it put more simply - never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise.

I think that you should check out the artist Liza Lou: http://www.the-daily-record.com/past_issues/03_mar/000326dr5.html.  I went to a show of hers last year, and it was incredible.  Maybe you can be her young apprentice!  Oh, and I am quite sure that she strings the beads and then glues a whole string at once...

First of all, it's beautiful. Simply gorgeous.

Second, I am SO incredibly envious of your patience - I can't even begin to imagine how much time it would take to put on all those beads so perfectly.

And third of all - It's so beautiful! Really. Wow.

No, I just sketched out the basic shapes and went from there. I had these beads lying around for a while and knew that those were the colors I wanted to use. I had a pretty strong picture of it in my head so I didn't feel like I needed to draw it in color first.  Smiley
