The tutorial:

I picked up some bandana's for 33 cents each a few weeks ago - I was going to make a pillowcase type dress, but I saw Vegbee's peasant top and I thought I'd give it a try with bandanas.  It was easy b/c most of the edges are already finished and I don't have a serger.

The dress:

The neckline:

Detail of the finished seams:

Action shots:

It's a little bit Mu-mu-ish (is that a word?) - If I had to do it over, I would have taken it in a bit on the sides - but she's still wearing it and refuses to take it off - so it's a hit with her.  It's perfect for around the house or cover-up at the beach.  She did let me belt it with a scrap, so that might be good too. Smiley

Thanks for looking!

I love the bandana!  Good idea - pre finished edges - and it looks neat (can't beat the price either  Grin)

Very cute- what a great way to speed up the process, too. Folding, pinning, ironing, etc those hems was the longest part of the project for me.  Now, where are those bandannas I had?Huh??

Great work!

Very cute!

The gal who smiles when things go wrong has just thought of someone to blame it on.
