Quilting - Houstonians?

I began quilting recently and I'm interested in hiring someone to quilt my tops.  Is there anyone that knows a place in Houston?  Also - what is the price range?

Usually quilt shops offer long arm quilting services.  In my area, there's a price per foot that varies depending on the design chosen.  I priced out a hypothetical king size quilt, and it would be about $100-$150 to quilt.

i'm getting two quilts done right now...i have the price list with me its about 30 for a queen...40 for a king...batting is 7.50 a  yd extra and its 108 inches wide I believe. If you want the binding done its ranges from 14-18 total. anywho...I'm not sure what your people in your area charge but I'm sure there are several who do it. Since we have two people in our town of 5000. I would ask a fabric store or possibley look online...I know there is a website where you can send in your quilts to be machine quilted.

There are plenty of machine quilters to be found on the internet. The International Machine Quilters Association has an online list along with contact/website info.  Send an email with the size of your quilt and you should get a variety of quotes based on the level of quilting you desire.  The list of Texas quilters is pretty long.

I am a professional longarm quilter and I have clients from all over the country.  Their quilt tops get shipped to me and I work through the design choices over the web with my clients. There are plenty of other quilters who can work with you this way. Most base their pricing per square inch (length x width).  Multiply that by the level of quilting desired.  For example, a king (100" x 92") would be $184 on my basic quilting tier ($0.02/sq. inch)
 
Like anything else, you get what you pay for.  Cheap price may = cheap quilting.  You are hiring a skilled laborer and the operative word here is "skilled". A few more dollars can get you unbelieveable results.  Look for a quilter you can connect to because that is worth a ton of $$ right there.
