Hello everyone!
This is a necklace made for fellow craftster Nven's birthday last year. I've somehow managed to get completely bogged down in projects for the next few weeks so I haven't had a moment to try and make a new alice necklace (the pretty beads are sitting on my coffee table, begging for attention...)
anyway, this was the first asymmetrical charm necklace that i made, and its still one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. Its called Pirate's Booty because we gave it to her in the treasure chest on a pirate shaped birthday cake a group of us made her ^_^
It has a skull and crossbones charm, a dragonfly, a bee and another charm, and a variety of cuts of Swarvoski crystal in reds and oranges.

Gorgeous!

(and that name, "Nven" - how is it pronounced? My daughter's name is "Niamh" which sounds like "Steve" but with an N - it's Irish Gaelic and means "Bright"

*laughs* sorry, I got stuck on her name and am now super-curious about it, but I am SO hitting "THIS ROCKS" about the necklace - very pretty)

That is really cool... I don't know if I could do jewelry that assymetrical and collaged and think it looked right. Mostly I have to do symmetrical. It looks balanced, though.

I........LOVE........IT! WOW! Where did you get the skull and cross bone charm? I saw that once! That actually came on a ribbon that tied up a pajama set in target. (It was pirates of the caribbean themd. I love POTC  Grin) I've never tried an asymmetrical necklace. Maybe I should try?

allo!

morethanblue - she pronounces it like Neven (rhymes with seven). Its not her given name - its her artistic alias Smiley

Imagine - Nven retouched the photo with her mad photoshop skillz!

hannahkarina - hehe that's funny cause she calls them her hershey's kiss earrings too!

CreativeChick8 - the skull and crossbones charm is from Sassy Bead in ottawa (as is about 99% of my jewelry supplies)

thanks for all the sweet comments ^_^ as always, craftster is a great source of inspiration!

Beautiful!  I love the reds and oranges together with the different metals, and the asymmetry is lovely.

That's so cool! The asymmetry works really well in this. The thing I like most about the necklace is probably the lock, though - it's such a small detail, and it just makes this perfect.
