let me preface this by saying, it's all about these shoes:

that is, I saw these shoes and knew they had to be mine.  The I set about designing the perfect outfit in my head.  I could wear them with anything really- but you know how it is- you see it in your head and nothing less will do
so...

this is simplicity 2962
a little fabric detail- b/c I've been in love with it for a while and visited it on the Hancock's website for a while.  I actually bought from catylouquilts on esty- she rocks!

I guess it's a little blurry- but I think you get the idea.

hmmm...the our mirror must be much dirtier than I thought. anyway- I'm wearing these really sweet charcoal gray slim pants.  I also have this really v-necked sweater I'm re doing to wear over it if I"m chilly.
do y'all think it's fancy enough to wear to an evening wedding that specified "cocktail attire' on the invite?  I'd wear it to drink cocktails...

I think of cocktail attire as LBD and heels, but I'm over 35 too, YMMV.

Sorry, I'm with the others - definitely not cocktail attire.  It's perfect for a morning after the wedding brunch, though!

VERY cute...but not cocktail attire. think a nice dress with heels (or fancy flats) or dress pants with a dressy top.

I don't think I've ever been to a cocktail party, but this is beautiful!!!

Hmmmm... Are you sure small children are welcome? No offense but sometimes brides let this slip their minds. Sometimes parents let it slip too- evening cocktail attired wedding just doesn't sound like a kid friendly event to me- sounds like the kids would be bored out of their little heads.

Yes, it's quite rude to put "don't bring the kids" on an invitation, but if the childrens names weren't listed it usually means they aren't invited.

I say get a sitter and go kick up your heels leave the kids where they will have just as much fun as you!

the kids names were on the invitation and it's been made very clear that everyone who is able to come is expected to.  also- it's four hours away and we'll be staying for two days.

I'm glad it was clear on the invite, so often it's not. The couple probably has stuff planned for kids, which is great
