Hello, Everyone!
I am trying to decide what kinds of pieces I should make for our local Spring Market Days and I hope to get some help from you all. The beadwoven pieces take much longer to make but I get more satisfaction from creating them. The strung ones, of, course are much faster to do. It is hard for me to figure out a balance when I have to have enough inventory for the market days. I have posted a hodgepodge of some of my work and would appreciate any comments you have to make... Any and all advice is appreciated!

these are lovely  Grin I love the liles.

IMO - I would have a strong supply of the simpler strung (slightly less expensive) necklaces because thats what most people are willing to buy. But I would also have a few of the 'larger' pieces (with suitably appropriate prices on them) for sale and perhaps a couple of large display pieces (not for sale) and a good supply of business cards - that way someone may not be willing to part with the money there and then but might be willing to commission you to do a specific piece later.

I think bushbaby's advice is pretty sound.

The only other thing I'd suggest is to use your judgement regarding what kind of buyer usually shows up for this particular event.  The more high end buyers the event draws, the more of the more expensive pieces you can use.  One of our local craft shows tends to be more "art" than "craft" and usually the buyers there are willing to spend more $ for something really nicely done.  I did notice that at their spring event this year most of the artists didn't seem to have as many choices in the medium to higher end price range as usual - I guess the economy is scaring everyone.  But - as it turned out many of them could have sold more if they had had it.

(Your bead work is really beautiful BTW - definitely art!)

It's not that I don't want to swap, it's that I often don't have time.  But feel free to ask (especially if it's one that's not too time consuming).

All sooooo pretty! I love the yellow bead necklace. How long did it take you to make the 4th one down? So intricate!~

Thanks to all for the comments and complements...I never really know whether I am doing well or not and asking personal friends usually brings very biased responses!
In regards to a couple questions:
None of these pieces are made on a loom... I tried a loom once or twice and while the results were nice, it just wasn't as much fun as doing off-loom work...

The fourth piece down probably took somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 hours to make. It is a freeform piece and they always seem to take me longer since I do lots of thinking about the piece as I construct it. It was made as a tribute to my grandmother from whom I got the "crafting gene" and who loved flower gardens. It remains to be seen if I can actually part with it...
Again, thank you! Smiley

I knew I was drawn to that piece for some reason....the grandmother reason. You say it's a tribute to her - that is just soooo sweet. I wish I could make something as beautiful as that to remember my grandmother by. She loved to work in her vegetable garden. You're a doll.  Wink

4th one down was my favorite as well.  40 hours - wow - that's quite an investment of time!

(I am also very partial to #6 and #7.)

It's funny, I'm not generally a flowery kind of gal - but your pieces are really beautiful.
