I've been eyeballing  this pan for a while, and I'm actually going to go out and buy it.  I do have a couple questions tho...

1. I know you bake the top and bottom of the cupcake individually in the same pan, but when you put it together is there any problem there?  Does it support the top ok?  Did you have to trim any of the cake to make it level?

2. How did you go about cutting into it? 

I may make one of these for my friend's daughter's first birthday, so I was just wondering.

I did trim the cake to make it level, but it was very stable after that. The only note is that the top gets a little more baked than the bottom, because it is smaller. However, it wasn't too overdone. My daughter thought the cake was very small, but it is deceptive because it is quite tall. Just cut regular thinnish cake slices, and it was fine. The girls got a real kick out of it last night.

Jachicue- I second pretty much everything wickedgoodknitta said. I just trimmed it visually. I used some frosting to keep the top on and it was way stable. No problems there. It is a super fun super easy cake to make with the pan. Although it does need a double recipe to fill.

I got my pan at Target on clearance for about $10.  With two batches of funfetti cake mix and one giant container of frosting, I made 1 giant cupcake, 9 regular cupcakes, and 12 mini cupcakes. I had to do some minor trimming on the cake, but it's rather sturdy.
