It would be great if everyone would introduce themselves as they are approved, and say what their cause is.

Oh, and if anyone knows how to turn your usernames into a link to your profile (for your partner's stalking convenience) please pm me so I can do it in the approved swapper list!

I'm Medley, aka Feast Your Eyes, and my cause for purposes of this swap is reducing the number of adoptable pets killed in shelters. There are lots of related animal rescue and welfare causes related to this topic, and I support those too, but that's the root of it.

HI!
I'm Maggie.  My cause is breast cancer awareness.  My SIL passed away in November at 41, after a 5 year battle.  My husband and I are doing the 3 day, 60 mile walk in DC this October.  The person who crafts for me will have all crafts put in a basket auction to raise money for our $5000 goal.
Can't wait to craft for someone else and the cause that is close to their heart.

Ma Rut, maybe you could list 2 or 3 causes and let your swap partner pick, or do an item for each.

It's awesome to be passionate about things!

I think many of us have more than one cause we're passionate about... and what's at the top of the list differs depending on the day! Smiley

Sign-ups are closed now, and I will try to get partners matched up on my lunch hour, and if not then, then early this evening (eastern time). If you missed signing up this time, I'm hoping there will be a round 2, since many people who expressed interest didn't make it into this one. We are an elite little group of Cause swappers.  Wink  Since there is an odd number, there will be 1 group of 3 where those in the group will send to one partner but receive from the other.

I've done some shopping Wink

I love my partner's cause! It's animal adoption and she's interested in a lot of specific situations involved in that, like Big Black Dog Syndrome. I had never heard of it but apparentally it's really difficult to get these dogs adopted. It's a very sad situation but I'm really thankful that she's opening my eyes to it.

I'm really liking this swap Smiley

Oh, how I wish I could have signed up for this swap!  And the Big Black Dog Syndrome is a new one on me, and one I find strange - the three dogs in my life (all of whom have sadly passed over the years) were all big black dogs that were adopted/rescued.  Perhaps I have the reverse of this syndrome? I know, I think black fur on cats & dogs is beautiful (and disguises itself on black clothes quite well). If anyone wants to know more about BBD's there is a great site: www.blackpearldogs.com.

I am also learning a lot about a cause I didn't know much about, but I'm keeping it secret because I want it to be a surprise for Ma Rut which one(s) I chose.

Dear 6in1,

I'm not sure you've received my message. I've had problems lately with others not receiving my private messages, and I don't want you to think I haven't responded to your lovely inquiry.

There are no specific crafts that I'm looking for, and if my cause is too difficult to craft for, let me know, as I have several others that are also close to my heart!

Are there any things you would like?  Will the items go to those battling breast cancer? Survivors? Are they for you use and thereby to raise awareness of breast cancer issues?  I have several ideas, but want to make sure that I'm crafting the most useful things.

Thanks! - And have a wonderful day!

Michelle

It sounds like everyone is cruising along on their projects. I am happy that I finished my medium item and I am really happy with how it turned out, especially considering it is a craft I haven't done for a long time, and used some new techniques for me.

I'm sending one mailing day late, but FeastYourEyes and 6in1 both know that.

I just have to say I'm really excited about what I made. I really tried to think outside the box and come up with things that someone with breast cancer, or someone who is linked to someone with breast cancer would find useful/fun. I love how much this swap pushed me to really think about the cause.

6in1, thanks for such inspiration!

Should have posted this sooner, for anyone having trouble shipping. This is a link to the US postal service website, so you can find out where the nearest automated shipping center is. You can ship 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as long as you have a credit or debit card.
