Superman Duct Tape Purse (New purse pictures added)

Thanks for the compliments.    My daughter loves it! I spent half the day on here yesterday and took a couple of ideas and put them together. This site rocks by the way 

I downloaded superman covers from the internet and then printed them out on cardstock (2 covers for the front and back and one cover for the side) then I found a superman strip for the bottom. I covered the cardstock with contact paper and then covered the back with colored duct tape. I taped it together with duct tape (inside and out). Used folded duct tape for the handles and the closer strap (and used velcro). (I glued the handles and the closer strap first and then put duct tape over them) I folded the top half of the sides so it would close. Then I used foam letters for my daughter's name and I used shrink art to make the superman S on the closer (you probably can't see that well). I hope this helps. If that doesn't explain it good enough let me know.

This purse is so cute!  I would love to make a similar one for my daughter, maybe Supergirl or Wonderwoman. I like to sew so I think I will make it like a juice pouch purse by sandwiching the covers between layers of vinyl.  Could you tell me how big the purse is? and where you downloaded the covers from?

I originally was looking for superman comics but couldn't find ones to suit my purse and I found all those covers... So I used them. I did an image search on Google for superman comics.

The dimensions are 7x10 front/7x5 sides/5x10 bottom.

The purse didn't hold up all that well so for the next one I added a stiff plastic placemat from Walmart to the back before I taped it and added some clear thin plastic to the handles to reinforce them. It worked out a lot better.

Thanks for the info.  I found some Supergirl covers that I think I am going to use.  I have some other projects going right now, but hopefully I can get started on this in a few days.  Your new purses are great! and your dog is adorable!
