I was inspired to make these by another post on Craftsters.

I found this lovely brandy glass, but alas I had to cover it with plastic wrap as it did not keep in the water well.

The big bottle I bought and it works perfectly.
The fawns I found at an op shop before Christmas and just knew they would be perfect for this project.

a view from the top

Inside in miniature mondo grass and the moss was found in the top of the pot.
I plan to make some more with different moss I have here, that is growing in the packet.

This is where they sit in my kitchen.

you can see my space violet in the blue pot and bamboo next to that.

Lovely! I was hoping you'd post pics  Roll Eyes  The pot you can close is indeed more practical, so you don't have to water it so much and it's a real terrarium this way. (However I think vivarium is a more accurate name, when I tell people I have a terrarium they think I have huge spiders or tropical frogs in them  Tongue)

they look so cool!

i bet you could find a pan-lid in a thrift shop to fit that brandy snifter.  then it would look more like you originally intended ... or maybe instead you could a circle of Plexiglas on there.

it's to small of a pot lid but I do have some laminate here that might do the trick, never thought of that really, the only trouble is cutting it and finding a way to make it stay put.

hot glue or clear wax or glue dots.  or silicone earplugs (you would want to roll it out into a thin line of course).
