I needed a dress for a recent wedding, so I purchased a XL men's shirt from the local salvation army, cut it up, sewed it back together and ended up with this (I'm not sure why, but it makes me think of the circus):


The buttons in the middle of the bows were my little brother's idea (he's a genius!)

Sadly I didn't finish in time for the wedding, and so I wore it to school last week.  I got a lot of funny looks  Grin.

For the sleeves I just cut out a trapezoid piece of fabric, shirred it on both sides then sewed it together. Like this:

Yes, there is a collar.  I cut up the original collar, rounded it and added some red piping.

whoever gave you funny looks is crazy. i bet they are just jealous they probably couldnt  make anything as cute as that.
It does kinda reming me of a female ringmaster costume...
i want one now...in black and white.
