This is the stuff that I sent to Piaochong:

The confiscated box with fake bird's nest on top:


The lining paper of the box, which was handmade paper with "plant material imbedded", and therefore confiscated:


Sewn bandana and earrings (not sure of their status):


Small stuff inside box, including a dinosaur toy (wrapped), rubber stamp, incense, and barely visible buttons (also not sure of their status):


My pride and joy - a silver dodecahedron necklace. I took a stitch through it to hold it on in the nest, so they deemed it "permanently attached", and have also confiscated it. Piaochong may get it back though, once they remove the offending FAKE nest:



I loved these weird flounder buttons I acquired a few years ago (not sure if she has them, either):

Wow. That's ridiculous! I really hope they release that dangerous nest! Everything is so beautiful. I'm sorry you're going through so much!

Alterna- that was a beautiful package you sent!  I'm so sorry that your partner can't enjoy it all.     I'm sure that Piachong appreciates all your hard work that you put into her package.

Alterna - your work is absolutely gorgeous, and I'm very, very sorry that the paper and nest were deemed "offensive." I know some things like soil and plant samples are verboten (or difficult to ship, at least), but that is about the most broad interpretation of that rule I've ever seen! I hope piaochong is able to get most of it back, and maybe she can put things back in their proper places. I just don't see how someone could look at something like that and decide to demolish it, but then I've never worked as a customs/quarantine official.
