I know a lot of people will be posting flowers, but I've gone ahead anyway and here's why:
I think that nature is such a beautiful thing. Living in Britain, there's always flowers, whether it be bunches in shops, in a garden or a field and because we are used to seeing them, we just walk straight past. The beauty with close-up photography is that it makes you stop, and actually look at things. See how the light makes things more beautiful, more sinister, emphasises certain aspects, makes you look at things from a different perspective...

this photo it extremely inspiring. i hope to have a flower like that in my garden someday (but it might not happen, i garden indoors because i live in Vegas)
