I spent today making a cool diaper bag for an expectant friend.  The idea is that it's got all kinds of practical aspects (vinyl lining, lots of pockets on the inside and outside) but that it looks like a regular messenger-style bag.

I've put together a tutorial for the bag which is available at my blog, here: http://amingledyarn.wordpress.com/gallery/tutorial-hip-mama-diaper-bag/.  Let me know if there are any problems or questions with the 'tute - and enjoy!

Great job on the diaper bag.  Also thanks for taking the time for the tutorial.  Its very well written.  Your fabric choice is great.  I also like the fact that it looks more like a messenger bag than a diaper bag.

Very cool!  And great job on the tutorial - I didn't read it 100% through, but what I did read, and with all the pics, looks great.  Thanks!

AWESOME bag.  I love that it doesn't look like a diaper bag, but is oh so practical

That's funny-- I've been searching Craftster for the last two days reading every post relating to messenger bags and diaper bags.  I've been wanting to make one of these for a friend of mine.  Thanks so much for the tutorial.  I love your bag and the fabric is fabulous!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for making an actual EASY to understand tutorial with LARGE and clear pics!  I love messenger bags and have been searching for a tutorial, and all the pics are small, or I can't understand half of what they are saying.  I seriously am going to make this soon!  Thanks again!
