So I'm all about saving money, especially when it comes to artwork.  Recently while at an antique mall I fell in love with the stacks of vintage magazine ads and covers.  I picked up these two ads. that I thought would be perfect as his and hers bedroom wall art for around $5 each.  The frames were bought at a thrift store for $3 each.  I was lucky enough to find a matching pair, and painted them with some leftover spray paint.

The ads. were slightly under 11x14 so I placed some matching scrapbook paper behind it.

Go check out your local antique store!  My local Brass Armadillo Antique Mall has rows and rows of old magazine ads and covers sorted by topic.  I also picked up a few others, an old PBR beer ad for over the bar and some food ads for the kitchen.

I did the same thing before using vintage Pepsi and Diet Pepsi ads I bought on eBay for dirt cheap.  My ex was a pepsi fan, and I am a diet pepsi girl, so it was my version of "his & hers" LOL

I love the vintage underwear ads - cone bras and giant mens tighty whities! woo hoo!

I really like these! If you could get your hands on some slightly larger frames and mat these, it would really REALLY set them off against your walls. You could even use mismatched frames that are painted the same color for cohesion. Great work, these really are a unique touch.

What a great find! The ads are perfect for his and hers art. They look great as is, but I agree that they'd also look good with a larger "mat" in a bigger frame.

So cool; I've done this a few times with old schoolgirls annuals or vintage knitting/sewing patterns. As a hardcore-hoarder I can never bear to cut them up, so either colour-photocopy them or scan them.

Those are really cool. My sister made me some frames like that with vintage Coke ads years ago for my collection.
