I have two scrap yarns this week.



I'm off to spend a weekend away with my spinning wheel - without kids! Yay!!!! So hopefully I'll have plenty to show next week.

Its the little arrowhead lace shawl which is a free pattern on knitting daily.

This week I have this:

Gravel
Some random, crappy  wool from unknown sheep.


This is going to be sock yarn, no name yet, unknown sheep.


My camera doesn't do macro very well.

A bunch of violets to welcome spring, which seems not wanting to come at all this year, here...
The purple parts (the "flowers") are more coiled than the green and it's plyed with golden embroidery thread.

Everyone's yarns look great.

And i just got a spinning wheel!!!! Maybe next week I'll be able to join you guys (of course, it will be yarn barf, but its still my yarn barf ) Right now I have to glue my bobbins together.

Pretty yarns so far this week, and that shawl is beautiful, star217.

I haven't been able to spin too much the last few weeks, due to a back injury, but I had finished this up just before I hurt myself.


"Tempest" about 95 yards of soft merino wool in navy, royal blue and white is plied with carbonized bamboo, iridescent thread strung with silver lined glass beads, and bits of black and purple novelty yarns.


"Wildwood" is about 102 yards, 100% wool in pale purple and green plied with iridescent thread strung with glass beads.

I'm thrilled that I finally get to participate in a Fiber Friday after seeing so many gorgeous yarns!  This is my third hand spun as I'm a really new spinner, but the first one that looks like yarn to me.   

100% Corriedale, 88 yards.

I've been a long time lurker on these threads but I'm excited to say that in a few weeks I too might finally get to join as I'm getting a wheel on the 6th! These threads are such an inspiration!
