Ugh, apparently I'm running low on caffeine and just screwed up my zipper. It started out as a a zip for "Dress Plackets", much like this one-

See that little metal stopper at the top there? Yeah I cut it off. -Not really sure what the hell I thought was going to happen but let me reiterate the lack of caffeine.  Undecided So now I have it all sewed into the dress and naturally it is the prettiest zipper Ive ever done  Roll Eyes so I really dont want to take it out! Does anyone know if I can fashion a stop somehow? Thanks in advance for any help. Now Im off to make some coffee...

Come down a couple of teeth from the top. By hand, stitch over/across the zipper about 5 stitches (around and around, if that makes more sense). That will keep the pull from sliding off the end. You can check in a sewing book. Look for something about shortening zippers. Same idea.

I've learned not to sew when I'm tired. However, I am not always disciplined enough not to sew when I'm tired!

You could take the stops off an old zipper with wire cutters, cut off a few of the teeth on your new zipper and squeeze in stops
just be careful not to cut off fabric with your cutters, fold over fabric put in hook and eye and your done
I hope i haven't confused you more
