Well, for starters I am partial to big chunky bead necklaces.
I made this last night, nothing fancy but the style is right up my alley.
I went with a kinda boring brown color for the fabric, so that I can wear this a lot! I think it would look nice with a funky pattern, maybe I'll do that down the road

(NOTE: Brown necklace is the one I made!)

I bought a fat quarter of a basic brown fabric, and cut 2 pieces of a 3" strip.
I sewed the strips together to make one long strip.
Then fold the long strip in half (right sides together.)
Turn the "fabric tube" right side out.
Now, the "beads"... I used 1" styrofoam balls to get the ball shape of fabric, and small wooden beads on the outside of the fabric.
Alternate: "thread" the wooden bead through your fabric. Then push a styrofoam ball down to where you want it. Then wooden bead, then strofoam ball, etc...
I then sewed up the ends of the fabric tube, and simply tie it around my neck.

The nice thing, is you can change the length if you want.

Hope you like it!! Comments & criticisms welcome.
