Normally I'm middle of the road about sparkly. It's ok. But I'm totally gaga over this batt. *shakes head* though this is probably a GOOD thing, no?
Thanks lubee!!!

*puts on organizer hat*
Just a few reminders- Please keep me updated- we still have some packages in transit. Feel free to show yarn here too. And FO's!

I finished spinning the batt from pmknpunk:
It was wool, bamboo and glitz plied with iridescent thread with glass beads and crystals.
It's very very sparkly!
It was lovely to spin....I must get more bamboo to play with Grin
Before setting the twist....

I'm having the hardest time getting sparkly things to photograph well. Does anyone have any tips on how to do that?

I can never capture the true sparkly-ness of any yarns or fibers - indoors, outdoors, lightbox, etc -it just all doesn't look as gorgeous as it does in person. But after switching to outdoor photos only I must say it does look 100X better and more shiny/sparkly/true to life. I highly recommend taking photos outdoors!!! Cheesy

For photographing outdoors-do you wait for a cloudy day or shade things somehow? I notice that colors seem washed out if I take pictures of things outside. Perhaps my crappy camera has something to do with it  Undecided

I live in Oregon - its always cloudy! Lol!! But yes, I do find a shaded area (the sun really does come out here..) or shade it myself somehow. Late afternoon is usually a good time for taking pictures for me..
My colors are really washed out if there is direct sunlight on what I am photographing too!

Woohoo! Look what the postman brought me today!

Lapoli, please forgive me for the terrible photo - it does not do your awesome package justice! (But I'm taking a quick break from finishing a final project that is due in 2 hours... procrastinate? Me? No way.)

And the details...

3 handpainted rovings - two mill-end braids(red/blue, grey/lime/red), 1 corriedale braid (yellow/green)
Undyed, natural shetland roving - So squishy! I love it.
Bag of alpaca/wool fiber - The alpaca feels amazing and it is a lovely cocoa color, can't wait to make some batts with it...

Thank you so much Cheryl!  Cheesy Back to finishing this project so I can start spinning...
