I am so impressed!!!   I'm seriously considering doing this now, does it stay fairly dark (more so than a light-colored room) during the day?  (Hubby works graveyards ...)

Wow, that looks fantastic!
I'm redoing my parents basement with the intent on living down there (yay, being a loser and moving home after university, but my new, real job is an 8 minute walk away, how could I resist?) and I knew that my colours were going to be black, white, and red. I thought I'd do white walls, but now I know I'm going to do black ones. Thank you so much!

I hope you don't mind too much, but I saved the last picture, the one where it all comes together, as inspiration for me!

Wow... what a lot of polar opposites...it's masculine, yet feminine at the same time...comforting, yet chic...gothic and Victorian in an odd sort of way...and it works! Good job!

I'm so glad you are inspired!  I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with!

Surprisingly, it's not that much darker.  But that's probably because (1) before the chandelier, I didn't have an overhead light.  I had an electrician install it.  (2) I have white drapes and white wood blinds, so the windows glow  (3)  I used a high gloss paint that reflects the light from the lamps.  But I have to say that it is way more calming than the khaki I had it painted before.  And I do sleep better now.

Wow...I am SO jealous of this room.  I loooove black and white.  And it looks absolutely fantastic.  I really like how the white curtains really help the black.  It's simply gorgeous.

And you made me post for the first time (since I joined forever ago)!!
