I have to say I am really liking those shoes.  It should turn into a kinda upscale, urban ladies quilt!  Awesome.

That's exactly what I am going for ;P  I want it to have an urban feel ;P  I love those shoes too.  I had been hoarding that fabric but when I knew I needed to add in some pinks, I grabbed it.  The dark pink there is actually a romance fabric and has pretty love sayings on it Wink

I'm looking to send my Step-Sister's Choice quilt to a new home.  If you're interested in swapping for fabric/scrapbooking supplies, send me a PM.

It reminds me of a wonky log cabin block times two.  I keep wanting to make some like that. That is really neat.

That is exactly what it started out as  Smiley  I had 2 7" crazy log cabins then I felt bad cutting up too much of your fabric so I added the strips.  I'm glad you like it!

mimiw: I like it a lot!
athenamat:  I love the fact that the dark pink fabric has romantic sayings to go along with the high heel shoes!

Mimiw, your block is reminding me of the gee's bend quilts.  Don't read on if you are going to be jealous!.....This Saturday is my 5th anniversary and my husband is taking me to their show which just opened up at the Denver Art Museum  and a play at the Denver Center for Performing Arts that is about the same group of ladies!  Quilts all day.  A day at the museum and a play to see is awesome.

Unfortunately, I can not be there the day they will be to sing songs and sign books!  I can not believe that one of the few things I really want to do I already have a commitment to months in advance.  I will be at the beach with my parents which is awesome, but how cool would it be to meet these ladies?  Maybe I can convince my husband to go for me and get a book signed?  Maybe?

athenamat: we are fabric shopping twins. I love all your fabrics. Tons. Which is evident in my postage stamp quilt that has a whole bunch of the shoe fabric in it... I can't wait to see your quilt finished!
I'm in the middle of working on glittergirl94's block. The only thing that got me through my 3 hour math class tonight was the fact that I was 1/2 done with the block and I could finish it when I got home!

{EDIT} here it is!
'star crossing' from quilterscache. I modified it to have to diagonal stripe (with the stars on it) be one continuous piece [instead of 2 pieces seamed together] to showcase the fabric more. While it sounds simple to make that change, it tested my understanding of angles beyond belief. I intended to have the two big stars diagonally across from each other, but somehow that didn't happen and it's making me crazy! OCD, much? Roll Eyes anyway, here it is--

FlashleyAshley, that block is amazing!  I knew great things could be done with the starry fabrics, but that's just gorgeous.  Smiley
