I'm pretty sure you're sposed to allow more, because my computor, being a work one, doesn't allow very many at all but it always comes up with a pop up that says "do you want to store this cookie?".
I'd say allow as much as you possibly can, and as much too, but it can be hramful to your computor.
Personally I disallow as many cookies as possible! All of them are advertising-oriented except for a few where a cookie is required to make it possible to post on a board, to pay at e-bay, amazon, etc.
Some boards will also try to put
other non-necessary cookies on your computer from their "advertising partners" too --advertisers
love you when you allow all their cookies

. So it's best to check and see which cookies you need and which you don't need, in order to use a site the way you want to use it (maybe you'll want a lot... I don't though).
Every cookie puts your e-mail address on a list (or hundreds of lists) of advertisers though, so just be aware of that (...they can also then sells their lists of e-mail addresses to even more advertisers/spammers, and eventually they can get to the more unsavory "advertisers" too

).
To
check out which cookies you have, and to
get rid of any you don't want, if you're using the
Internet Explorer browser, click on:
Tools (in the toolbar) > Internet Options > Privacy >
SitesYou'll see a long list of cookies you've either accepted or denied (I have the option of set up for being asked for permission every time a cookie tries to put itself on my computer).
You can remove cookies from the list, or you can allow or block any particular cookie by copying it into the Allow/Block window. At least that's the way it works for me.
I always try to remember and check the list every so often because a few end up sneaking their way onto my computer in various ways anyway and I get enough spam as it is.
Okay, here's where to set the
warn-me-before-accepting-cookies option for Internet Explorer, if you're interested:
`````````````````````````````````````
Tools (in the toolbar) > Internet Options > Privacy >
AdvancedThen this is what I have in the options that come up from that:
(checked) Override
Automatic Cookie Handling
(checked) Prompt... under First Party Cookies, and under Third Party Cookies
(checked) Always Allow Session Cookies
OK
``````````````````````````
P.S. You can also set your
Pop-Up blocker from this page... another very wonderful option!
