A few weeks ago I bought some fabric at Joann;'s, and I was pressing it today and noticed something....even though I just bought it the selvege says 1990    Alexander Henry Sisters of the golden temple, 1990.

I was suprised because I then wondered....is this an old fabric bolt at Joann's??  don't they stop making the fabric by the year?  Or why date it cause it is potentially 18 years old, and if in 50 years, someone is trying to date my quilt, they will have the date all wrong...!!!   Huh  Does anyone know the answer.........

                  thanks!!

I'm not sure (beginner here), but I was under the impression that was the copyright date, so maybe they've just been making it since then. I got some at WalMart last week that has the copyright of 1998 on the edge.

Hope that helps...but I could be wrong!

I agree................it's probably a copyright on the pattern/dye combination on the fabric.........like the way a book can be copyrighted........but printed over and over.

It also may be the founding date of the company. With a name like that, i'd believe it Smiley
