I have a really old oven and it's very tempermental. (I think it hates me) It's burned sooooo many of my polymer clay beads.

Anyway, I have a toaster oven and I was wondering if I could shrink the shinky dinks in that?

yep, that's what i use, too.  lately though... some of them get all curled up when they are shrinking (which i know is normal), but when i wait for them to get flat, it seems like some of the smaller ones that don't curl up get kind of misshapen.  i think mabes they are getting overmelted?

i'm going to try doing smaller batches next time, and i'll separate the smaller pieces from the bigger ones and see if that helps.

I have a toaster over in my craft room dedicated to crafting.  I put a couple of plain ceramic tiles from a hardware store in the bottom and it seems to keep the temp a little more even.  I noticed my oven spikes temps (so it really doesn't keep a constant temp but rather a range).  Also, use an oven thermometer - my oven in my condo was 50-75 degrees too hot and burned all my cookies!  I also use a tile to bake a lot of my stuff - seems to work.

Now, where did I put my shrinky dinks?!

Hope that helps!

Is a 'toaster oven' different to a 'toaster'? Is 'toaster oven' maybe an American term? (I'm english)
