billowing clouds
sunlit days
blossom sweet breezes

It’s spring, and what is a young lady of means to wear when she has a long day of social engagements that run into the early evening? Hosting a picnic at 12, going to an afternoon tea at 3 then an early dinner in the Gardens?

When I made ‘Quoth the Raven’ the first apron I made ... well I felt the tree wasn't the right scale, so I made another, and painted it in a more gray tone ... but what to do with the first apron? The poor tree looked so sad, so I covered it in blossom. The first blossoms I tried were embroidered, time intensive and I wasn't happy with the look, so I picked them off and tried beads. They livened up the tree in no time!

Although it's Autumn here this little bit of spring livened my days a little Smiley so I set out to make an outfit to go with it. This is what I came up with:

The Apron:
hand painted image of a tree, heavily beading with sparkling blossoms in three shades of pink.

The Dress:
a chic blue cotton gown fitted at the bodice billowing down to a balloon hemline, piped in pink satin down the front seams and delicately hand embroidered on the bodice, it is fully lined.

The Petticoat:
teared in three shades of pink this cotton skirt is designed to peak out below the dress to add a straight pleated edge, it is machine embroidered with a tulip floral design.

Do you think it works?

I love the apron, the beading is perfect, and the top of the dress. What sort of doll is it?

That outfit is gorgeous.  You have some real talent.  From her face - I'm guessing your doll is 1/3 size.

Wow, that is amazing.  I'm very impressed  by your ability to do such complex sewing on such a small scale.
