UPDATE

I've got the blocks sewn together.  I went with my original pattern, the figure eight.  It came together okay.  My points don't match up, but I guess that might be to be expected given my lack of experience and also the fact that I'm not exactly a perfectionist.  Turned out okay so far!  I'm going to be adding boarders once I buy more fabric, and then it's on to the quilting!

PREVIOUS POST

Alright, so I got all my blocks sewn.  They're not perfect, I had some problems with one corner of the middle square stretching out all funny as I sewed across the seam, if that makes sense.  But other than that, they turned out pretty good for my first quilt, if I do say so myself.

Now, before I sew them together, I'm looking for input as to what layout I should put them into.

This was my initial plan when I started the quilt:

But I played around a little and came up with some other options.  (I don't know if these have actual names, so pardon my titles.  LOL)

Diamonds

ZigZags

Spiral

Arrows

Diagonals

Any opinions?

i like the spiral the best but it guess it also depends on if its for you or someone else too. if they wouldn't go for the sprial i'd do the diagonal stripes and then my third choice would be the diamond.

The funny thing is, the spiral was a total accident.  I found it while I was trying to lay out the diamonds, and thought it was just too cool to let it go.

I'm actually leaning towards doing my original plan, but keeping the picture of the spiral, and doing a quilt in that design for myself or my daughter later.   Smiley

I like the arrow or spiral.  The arrow is a pattern I've never seen before.
