I made a stegosaurus cake for my 27th birthday. Why? Because I'm an adult now, and that means I can do whatever I want, which means I can have a dinosaur cake. Uhh... right?  Grin

This is the first "3d" cake I've ever made. It's basically two 8" rounds of yellow cake cut into shapes and secured with fruit skewers and icing. I wanted to use funfetti, but was afraid that would fall apart. The icing was just plain vanilla, colored with food coloring. The back plates are Oreo 100 calorie pack thin crisps, and the toes/ tail spikes are pieces of Pocky. And the stegosaurus is the most noble of all god's creatures.

Thanks for looking!

Does that mean you got to eat it all by yourself with a fork right off the cake plate too?!  Thats the best part of being an adult with a cake-I think anyways! Smiley  Great job!

Awesome cake.  Yay for being able to do whatever you want!

Wish I could have been there for a piece of this yummy stegosaurus cake... maybe next year you could make a stack of books... and growl at people when they look at it... cause that is totally what I would do if I were making myself a 28 year birhtday cake... do you know who this is???  Grin

I love this, and will totally make something similar for my husband's next birthday.  I totally understand about celebrating.  I throw myself themed parties every year, which my friends love.  I think we never should stop celebrating another year with those we love!

My friends I am addicted to "crackster".  I think they might be right.
I am interested in personal swaps, just send me a pm!

I love my life, my hubby, my sons, and my 2 crazy dogs!  Isn't life grand?
