I am so pleased.. This is my first corsety type thing ever and I am quite happy with how it turned out. I made it in only about 9 hrs from nothing to finished.

I started with a basic torso block/sloper and I had to bring the size in considerably and I had to extend the hips out, and I picked my length, and went from there.. It is three layers, two of black cotton from the quilting section and then the outside layer which is just polyester but I love it. Black eyelet tape to save time versus inserting grommets, and hook and eye closures in the front. It has plastic boning purchased from Hancock..

I love how it fits and it's comfy but still gives me that 'corset' feeling. I am really happy with how fast I whipped it out!

I made it to wear to the ren faire this weekend, and now it's time to make my hubby a shirt and make myself a skirt as well.. Back to work.

Gorgeous. It fits you really well. I love the shirt you're wearing under it, did you make that?

And it's your first one? Amazing. I've been really tempted to sew a corset, but I think that at the moment it is a bit past my skill level.

Thanks! No, I didn't make the shirt, it's from Express.. Smiley Although I do love it and I'd like to make more like it, it's a super simple top.
