i got a great package from dollface! lots of different types of sheep's wool and the most ridiculously soft llama wool i've ever felt, most of it very nicely hand carded (although admittedly, i haven't felt much of any llama wool so i don't know if its just always like that).
heres everything...

theres a lot of shiny things, feathers, fabric and some koolaid dyed, hand spun yarn. i told her how i haven't tried dying wool yet but definitely wanting to so she also sent some koolaid and instructions (not pictured) on how to do it!
heres pics of just the fiber

thanks dollface!

Miss Violaceous sent me the coolest package. Last week. Ahem.

It is crammed full of good stuff, unfortunately my list is downstairs and I'm trying to keep tiny people amused (by spinning them in an office chair!!) There is some sari silk, wool, firestar, and a fake angora. And bits of yarn that had an unfortunate run it with a pet, boy I hear that! And beads and a binder thread. I'm so excited, I love the colors!! I'm trying to think the best way to put it together to spin it up. I think I want to card it in stripes, though I don' think my carder is wide enough (I have a roving carder). I may have to find where I can borrow one. Or maybe convince the hus I need a new one? not likely......

So, I spun up 30-ish yards of corespun yarn from the stash I got from LoudXMouse -

and a fuzzy (sorry) close-up

I threaded the flowers onto the cotton yarn, and then wrapped the roving around the cotton as I fed it through the wheel. The rest of the roving is now being spun into a 'plain' 2 or 3 ply (haven't decided yet  Cheesy ) yarn.

ThreadOrYarn, that turned out really well!

I've been busy with work, but I finished spinning the red batt that raynbow put together, and I'm about 1/3 through the yellow batt (i.e. the one with the cotton bits!).  I'll try to get some pictures of the finished yarn Smiley

I've started to spin up the batts I received into a thick and thin single. I had to let my ideas percolate for a while... but I think its going to turn out fabulous. If I can get it like it is in my head. :-D

Here's two of the five batts that raynbow sent me Cheesy  The red batt was a dream to spin, and I love the shiny bits in it.  The yellow batt created a boucle yarn of sorts Smiley  I haven't quite decided how to ply the yarns, but I can't wait to spin the remaining three batts!
