I made this a few years back for a christmas present. It became a pillow but I forgot to take a pic of it finished but you folks are creative. Imagine it finished!  Grin

And the back side:

This was another christmas present for a friend who likes powerpuff girls so it was sort of inspired by that.

I got the idea for this scarf from Fruits, a book of japanese street fashion.

Here is a tiny wolf!

and another view

I gave it away to a friend

A lion! grrr.

and DUMBLEDORE! inspired by potter puppet pals, but before Niel cicierga started using real puppets.

An elephant that I gave to a friend.

and Sheepy the Sheep! It's head and feet are knitted but the body is crocheted. He was killed in a tragic attack by a high school freshman

Love the Mario!!

I'll second that. I love that Mario pillow. I've been wanting to learn how to crochet that way. I guess it's called filet? (SP) It's just always looked so intimidating to me. You did an excellent job.

Filet would be double crochet and chain in sort of mesh, with the filled in spaces being all double crochet. I don't think that describes it well.

I guess it would be the crocheted version of intarsia.

thank you for all the compliments!

It's sort of a granny square stitch, except it's not a square.
row 1: double crochet twice, chain once, repeat a bunch.
row 2: double crochet in the chain space, chain one, repeat a bunch more.
when I was done with the white and yellow part, I double crocheted a yellow border around the whole thing and added pom poms.

I did two double crochets per pixel. How I made the chart was getting a pic of him from a screenshot, use paint to make it larger, print and use a marker to make a grid. I love pixelated stuff! charts are so easy!

I've decided to make another one because I made it for a guy I'm not friends with anymore and I want it back! Of course I can't be like "you suck, we're not friends so GIVE ME BACK TANOOKI!" I'll make one for me. I always make the raddest stuff for friends. I usually neglect myself.

I've never written a pattern. I gave that guy away ages ago. I might make a new one and write a pattern this time.
