but then i rememberd someone gave me this german yarn craft book from teh 70s and i just opend it up to see what it means

oncei understood what the heck a FM is and all that it's not as daunting anymore Smiley

a fm is a simple sc lol

but i do like tha dragon she has on there and the rat Smiley

well who knows i really might try one of her designs after i finish my current project Smiley

Those are very cute! She does have three patterns in English and German. To do the others treat them as a cryptogram. The most common stitch in most crochet and certainly critters is the sc, which someone has already provided us with. Runde is probably "round".
Wouldn't it be nice if any of us make the non English version to provide her with our translation? It is her pattern after all. One could also try Babelfish. I've only tried it once and didn't get very far because of grammar but I knew a few people that spoke Spanish and I was able to clarify with them the translation.
I once had a Japanese temari ball book that I asked a coworker to help with translation but he was not familiar with crafting so he was not able to clarify the supply list for me. Even tho he was a very intelligent and well educated man. His English was primarily of management and engineering fields. Luckily the Japanese publications usually have excellent photos and illustrations.

Those appear to be in German as well, unless I'm looking at the wrong thing?

Only some of them are English, but you could compare the English patterns to the German to decipher some of the terms.
