I have tons of denim both old jeans and a few yards of hemp denim that I don't know what to do with. What are some cute things that you have done with denim for your little ones? I don't really want to make jeans because I have no patience for 2N top stitching and I think it looks cheesey without it.

you don't say if you little uns are girls or boys.

One of my favourite dresses I've made my DD, is a dress that has patchwork bodice and the skirt part made from old maternity jeans.  Bottom of both legs used - one leg only one seam opened up to use as the front part with the original seam running down the front, and the second leg both seams opened up as it was buttoned all the way down the back.

She first wore it when she was around 18mths (was massive on her) and can still (just) wear it today, nearly 2 yrs later

You could make a skirt and trim it with some cute lace or something of that sort. I have some scraps of denim leftover from another project and that's what I plan on doing with mine. Just a basic circle skirt with an elastic waistband and trimmed with some eyelet fabric. Good luck!

I plan to use my jeans scraps for cloth books and some soft blocks for my 9 m dd, I have already done easter chicken from it. You can also make a comforter or a quilt for her to play on (instead on floor if you have cold floor). Wall hanging from jeans fabric with felt airplanes, trees and stuff would also be nice...
Since you have a girl you could make her a cute bag with some felt or fabric flowers on it. Or a huge tote to carry all of her favorite toys to grandma's and back Grin

I've made a denim beanbag chair and apron for my kiddo (and a simple reversible tote for myself).  I've been thinking of saving up old jeans to make a quilt, like this one: http://www.gloryquilts.com/patterns/denim.htm

And I just came across this tutorial a few days ago--some VERY cute frayed-denim apron dresses: http://www.sewingmamas.com/b/showthread.php?t=69807
