Does anyone know of any craft fairs or other venues to sell your handmade goods in the MD/DC area? I've tried looking in the newspaper but it always seems to be a flea market scenario rather than an actual craft show.  I looked up a few boutiques but they all seem to sell mass-produced gift items.  I tried google-searching but i can only seem to find events that have already passed.

(also, i'm fairly new to craftster, so if there's a better place for this, let me know)

It's not so bad bein' trendy...

I'm only familiar with Baltimore/DC area shows.  But the Charm City Craft Mafia holds two shows are year, one coming up June 21st: http://www.charmcitycraftmafia.com/wordpress/events/.
And the Washington City Paper holds Crafty Bastards, they just added a summer show, http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/craftybastards/.

You can also check Indie Craft Shows for listings, http://www.indiecraftshows.com/events.php and Craigslist.

As far as shops, again i only know the Baltimore area, but Hampden has lots of little shops. Most are listed here http://www.hampdenmerchants.com/. And there are others in other Baltimore neighborhoods too, try Fells Point.
