made for the kids this weekend on our stump, whose tree i miss very very much.  it it made from used pallets.  it only cost us about $30.  The price for 6 huge and very heavy pallets (which we could not find for free, so we bought them from a recycler) and one piece of new lumber.

Aw!  I'm jealous, I want a hubby and a midnight makeout shack!  You guys did a great job!  I always wanted a "real" fort, not just the lean-tos my bro, sis and I used to make Smiley

I LOVE this. Such a great idea!
And while I would totally love a midnight makeout shack, I'd much rather have the weather. I'm pretty sure I see a child in shorts. I wore my peacoat, a scarf and hat today. It was cold and rainy, and hasn't been much over 50 yet. I hate NH.

Wow, that is wonderful!
The kids must be so happy with it (I know I would have been as a kid).
Great job!

How cute! I would have loved a tree house like that that as a kid. Lucky kids and creative parents! Smiley

Great daytime playhouse for the kids. Better nighttime playhouse for the parents  Grin

I really like how the kids got in on the project by decorating the playhouse sign. Getting your kids hooked on crafting ASAP, eh? Wink

That's awesome!  I only wish you could've found free pallets.  We have some trees that need to come down and I am trying to convince the husband to put benches on the stumps, but now I just love your idea.  I could also see it as a tea house...

Just noticed this now, but I really think it rocks. What a great use of pallets and perfect for a kid's playhouse!!

That's really neat. And one of the best things about it is that it's WAY more safe than a regular tree house. No real climbing involved = no broken parts for your kiddos!

My favorite part, though, is that your DD is reading in there. How cute! It makes me happy to see kids read. :-)

i would kill for this now!!!!

A tree house would be awesome. When I went to Disney Land I was in awe of the Swiss Family Robinson tree house.. *sigh* I need a house near a gigantic and ancient forest. Although I would inevitably spend more time in the forest than my house. Perhaps I should become a hermit.

Have you added anything to your tree house? I think this is ingenious, but I feel like where I live it would need a roof. We get lots of rain in the summer. Although it's less summer and more of a rainy season.

Great use of a RIP tree.  It looks like so much fun.
