I got obsessed with sock yarns and then gave up on making socks...what a perfect use for it!
I adore sock yarns (especially the wondrous variegated & stripe ones) and wish there was more fab crochet patterns for them (beside socks of course).  Thank goodness for loom knitting, or I would never get a pair of socks done!

I have been eyeing those looms--so you can recommend them for socks?  I have been knitting for years and yet I can't seem to grasp DP's!!

You have to get a extra fine gauge (EFG) loom for sock yarns; DA Looms has some fab ones.  (I'm wisting for a Wonder Sock Loom for adjustable sizes.)  But you can see if you like looming socks with a KB Sock Loom.  I got mine at Hobby Lobby with a coupon (I think Joann carries this loom too so you could coupon there as well.)  It doesn't do well gaugewise with sock yarn, but I used Yarn Bee Snowflake Wool Blend, a DK weight, with great success. (the recipient adored them!)  For me, it's no contest; I would loom over DPNs.  Oh, and if you do really get into looming socks, there is a fab book out Loom Knitting Socks with a wide variety of sock patterns.  (And don't believe the stars; they are mostly about peeps upset because the book is mainly for EFG looms not Knifty Knitters.) Thanks for the info!  A dear friend of mine bought some sort of sock loom and is giving it to me...I wanted to try it before I committed to getting anything more expensive, although I do have my unused Joann coupon Wink...if it is a KB Sock Loom that would be great...there are just so many beautiful colors in sock yarn...I plan on crocheting this scarf again using a varigated DK weight yarn!  I love it!

I loved this pattern!  Here is mine.  I used Caron Simply soft.  I love all the colors that everyone picked.. I can't pick my favorite.  It is modeled by my oldest daughter.

Very lovely (the scarf and your dd!)...I was wondering what it would look like with worsted weight...looks like it will be very wearable for spring and even summer!

I think I am going to try it with bamboo yarn...I was worried that the picots wouldn't hold up

I made this scarf to test how the pattern would come out in acrylic. I have made the scarf in green cotton as presents before (and forgot to take pictures). I love making this scarf, so easy and rewarding!
The scarf turned out nice in acrylic, but I didn't wear it as I realized that if it's cold enough that I would wear a scarf, I want it to be woollen.
So I put it up on Crafts for Japan (see my signature), a use of the pattern which pinkleo kindly agreed to (Thanks!)

This is the scarf. It's a bit darker than in the foto.

Very pretty!

I love this scarf for the spring and early fall because it is so lightweight...I am making a silver glitter one for wearing with my boring black dress for all those silly company parties! I finished a red glitter one this past weekend...I will post it this weekend...fast and rewarding is right!
