I think I'm going to be the odd one here and use photos of people who aren't really my ancestors.  I looked at photos last night, and realized that all the cool old photos I have are of people I have issues with.  I don't really want several pieces of art featuring them.  The one exception is my Grandpa, but I don't want to use his photo, because he would never understand.

So now I'm looking for some adopted ancestors!

That's fine with me!

I was looking through some other photo's I had and thinking the same thing, they would not appreciate being made into art. My Gran and Grandad would completely love it though, they were pretty crafty people. I think I waffled a lot on my background story...but I still forgot to say that it was my Gran who taught me to knit Smiley

So far, everyone's ok with people choosing which picture they alter, so I'm going to let you choose on mine as well. I know some of you liked the little girl, and some liked my funky dude, so choose which one you like best. Please just don't make my grandfather into a clown.  Cheesy

kat, aroze's pics are not her real ancestors, either. It really doesn't matter as long as you have a fun photo!

As soon as we have everyone's pictures, I'll compile the little back stories you have all sent and will email them out to everyone in one document. I really like having a little bit of an idea of the personality of the people we're going to "art up". I may add to my story a bit. If anyone else wants to add to theirs, just email it to me and I'll use your latest biography when I update the list. (Please don't send several emails with partial stories on them and hope I'll compile them. I'm not that organized!)

Kat and aroze, feel free to totally make up stories about your adopted family members.  Smiley

Thanks Racky, It'll be good to have all the info in one place. I've already started folders on you all so I can add images, stories and anything else I need. I had a crazy moment of organisation going there for a while! Grin

I shan't be adding to my story, I think there's enough background in there already! Cheesy

Folders is a good idea! I like the idea of having a file on you all.  Cool

Hey, one more question I'd like you all to answer:

Do you want your art perfectly flat (no thicker than standard matboard), a little dimensional (might have tags or brads), or are you ok with downright chunky (over 1/8" thick in spots)?

Don't anyone get started just yet. I want to try to compile bios, thickness dimensions, color choices etc. in one place so everyone has easy access.

I swear, if I could only figure out all these details up front, I could perhaps rule the world.  Cheesy

Now that's a thought! Cheesy

I'm fine with anything! I'm thinking I may mount all things created on something else...inside a frame. I'll see what arrives though before I make too many plans!

I'm good with any thickness...go as flat or fat as you want to.
