Hey, one more question I'd like you all to answer:

Do you want your art perfectly flat (no thicker than standard matboard), a little dimensional (might have tags or brads), or are you ok with downright chunky (over 1/8" thick in spots)?

Don't anyone get started just yet. I want to try to compile bios, thickness dimensions, color choices etc. in one place so everyone has easy access.

I swear, if I could only figure out all these details up front, I could perhaps rule the world.  Cheesy

well you rule our little altered world racky.....
I'm loving reading all the fabulous bio's and think I'll write up a little more later today for mine.   I don't care how thick and chunky my art is.   Colours I don't care either, but will add that my mom's absolute favorite colour was purple.

kat and I have been talking a bit about how dragged out it seems sometimes in the tip in and that other swap, so we thought it might be cool to have only two sends for this swap.

In the first send, all us US participants will send to phizz and am, so their packages will have a bit of a head start. Phizz and am can send to two people of their choice. Everyone can also do the portrait of their own ancestor to post.

In the second send, the US people will send to each other, and phizz and am will send to whoever they have left on their list.

Now the big question: how long a crafting time do you want to have to send TWO photos home and do the one for yourself? (don't forget you don't need to do the backs!)

We'll set the second deadline after we see how the first one works.

That idea works for me. What about 3 weeks?

3 weeks sounds like plenty of time. Anyone think that is not enough?

Oh! No backs?  I hadn't thought of that.  Could I make a special request then?  Could you all please not leave your backs blank?  Nothing elaborate.  Pretty or colored paper or foreign text and your signature would be fine.

You know I have an allergy to the color white, and I might make these into a book.

Also, 3 weeks is good for me.

I don't think I would leave the back white unless it was specifically requested. Its one of those quirks of mine. To me it just looks unfinished in some way. Blame my mom...she always painted or finished the back of any piece she made.

OK, simple backs required. Either paint them (not white) or cover them with pretty paper.  Cheesy

EDIT: Oh, and be sure you sign your work!
