Yurts are very fashionable for the environmental set. Why not a yurt for your favorite pooch? More info about yurts here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yurt

Supplies (all from the 99 Cents Only Store):

~ Chopsticks
~ Rubber bands
~ Masking tape
~ Strainer
~ Velour baby blanket (had to go back and buy another one)
~ Picture frame
~ Kite (for string)
~ Rug
(Chihuahua not from dollar store)

Total spent: $9

The frame was constructed using double-strength chopsticks and rubberbanding them together at the joints. This made a very flexible frame. It was then attached to the picture frame as a doorway.

The roof was made by  sticking chopsticks into the lid of the strainer and then covering it with the second baby blanket.

A stylish, environmentally-friendly, and economical abode for our dog, Chuy

I'm totally loving this, it's so cute, I like how you put the definition in the description too, so we can learn! The inclusion of the strainer is great, and the frame around the door....sweet!

This is awesome! What a lucky little pooch. It would be hilarious if you made him a rain coat out of the SpongeBob Kite.

oh goodness, that was lame.
Really cool Yurt! Pretty sure my pup-pup wouldn't want to hang out in one though, on account of there aren't hands to pet him inside of it. Haha.

My cat would love one of these.  But he's a big boy and it would need to be so much bigger.  But your pup loves it!

I was ready to run to the local dollar store for a chihuahua! Sad I love the doggie yurt, but my pups probably wouldn't stay in it. They prefer the back of the couch.

This was such a hard Challenge to vote on this time.  Many entries were so clever and several ones stuck out to me as being original...but your yurt was the most original, I felt.

I voted for you!
