Happy Chairs

I always tell my sister, who is a talented furniture painter/re-conditioner, that she should post on Craftster. But she hasn't. So, being the big sister, I thought I'd give her some PR. She painted these chairs for our playroom as a gift to me for my 40th birthday, which, unfortunately for me, was not exactly yesterday.

These were basic unfinished furniture, but she has also done outstanding work with curbside pickups. Unfortunately, she lives 400 miles away, so I don't have easy access to drop by for a photo shoot.

I hope you like these as much as I do. Maybe some positive reinforcement will convince her to share her other work.

she should definitely post i love the one on the right  but both are so pretty ^^ i really like what she's done with the seat of the one on the left did she use a stencil or was it freehanded?

My goodness they are good!  I wish I could do something like that with curbside finds.  Around here, chairs like that go for 100s of dollars.

She used a stencil on the left seat, but she chose colors to give a cool 3-D effect. On the right seat, it's kind of a wash paint treatment decoupaged with circles she cut from some scrapbooking-type paper.

the seat on the left looks like it's wiggling at me! =) she did an awesome job, i got a rocking chair for my son that i have yet to do anything with because i can't do things as cool as your sister's chairs. so she rocks in my opinion. =)
