hello!

i collaged this out of construction paper and mod podge from an old glass iced tea bottle. then i got two 99 cent bunches of bright flowers and shoved them inside. it was so fun! a tiny bit messy, but my dorm room survived.

i toyed with the idea of adding other little appliques like colored paperclips or whatever, but decided against it.

what do you think; any ideas for a variation?

this is very cool! my ideas for variations...
use different types of bottles. IE: POM pomegranite juice bottles are so cool.

Also, try different types of papers... if your college experience is anything like mine was- you don't have a lot of extra case to make vases, so finding free supplies would be nice, right? Well, again if our college experiences are similar, you probably find a million flyers, invitations, etc. about... Ie: Save Tibet, Join this club, this frat/sorority party, blood drives, etc. etc. etc. I think it would be a cool looking vase & also an awesome college memoir to use these in your collage vase idea! Great project!

I agree with dmbgir41.... collect things you would normally throw away to use to make these.  When I was in college paper/fliers/brochures were EVERYWHERE!!!  Creativity is the best!!!
Also, could use jars, drinking glasses, etc....
Have fun!

Apparently your project got me thinkin'! When I got home last night there was a menu for a chinese restaurant in our door... I thought of your project! I remember we used to get like A MILLION chinese restaurant menus. I thought it might be a fun to use them, and put a vase or w/e in your dorm kitchen. I always thought the dorms that were decorated felt more like home. Combo fun project/nice thing to do.
