The Jean Hem Skirt !

  Hi Guys ,
    

       Have you ever been Hemming jeans and just felt wastefull throwing all those cool Hem scraps away ? Well I did ... I cant stand getting rid of anything that could later be usefull . So I decided to make an entire skirt out of the Hemmings ! yay! Ive been wanting to make this for quite sometime .. every since I made a purse using the same technique for a friend of mine ...


Well i finally got enough Hems saved up and whipped up this .. Please tell me whatcha think ??
I kept the bottom Hem line jagged because I wanted to show How the different width of leg  makes a longer or shorter strip.. plus I just think it looks a lil more fun and a lil less boring that A traditional mini .. I kinda look at the Hem line of this skirt as a Cross between Pencil / and mini  . and it has a really cool swing to it when I walk . I also off set the zipper and left it exposed ..just for an added detail ...

love it!  i too have teeny legs and have hemmed tons of jeans in my day.  i have a pair waiting for a hemming as i type.  i might just save those scraps for a skirt of my own.

Yes!  This is a great way to re-use them.  The skirt looks great.  I love the asymmetry and the exposed zip.

hemming from jeans? fantastic! man, and here i was throwing all those pieces away cause i was short and didn't think about how to use them.
