i fell in love with this fabric and decided to make a high waisted voluminous skirt out of it. it didn't turn out half bad, but my best friend always teases me that i m the only teenager she knows who likes wearing high-waisted granny skirts!!
the hem is a bubble hem at the bottom and the waistband is zig zaggy. also, the pockets are fitted into the side panels, not just sewn onto the fabric. so, tell me what you think!

this is one of the pockets and there's one exactly like it on the other side

the back of the skirt

and last but not least this is me in the skirt!! sorry it's so dark.

thanks for looking:]

That's really cute!  Nothing granny about it.

Hey, it looks great, you did a fabulous job - and you need to inform your friend that high waisted is coming back into fashion.  Seriously.

I love the colors!

LOVE the wavy waist! You have admirable skills and a real eye.

I suspect your 'granny' friend is jealous. I sure am! Grin

Gorgeous!  What type of fabric is that and did you draft the pattern?

thank you!
i think it's just a normal cotton..like the kind of thing you would get in a quarter for quilting.
and for the pattern, i drafted it myself. i was going to make an a-line skirt, but i thought the fabric deserved much more than that! i hope that covers everything.
